Jimmy Pop (sometimes Jimmy Pop Ali) (born James Moyer Franks, August 27, 1972 in Trappe, Pennsylvania) is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist and one of the main founding members of the Bloodhound Gang.
Biography[]
After graduating from Perkiomen Valley High School in 1990, he studied mass communications and history at Temple University, where he met The Bloodhound Gang bassist Jared "Evil Jared Hasselhoff" Hennegan. He also founded the Jimmy Franks Recording Company, a label on which The Bloodhound Gang releases albums, as well as other bands such as Helltrain, Isabelle's Gift, and, more famously, HIM. He was also a contributing writer to American pop-culture satire publication POPsmear throughout the 1990s. He was offered a position as an intern on the Howard Stern

James Moyer Franks (born August 27, 1972[1]), better known by his stage name Jimmy Pop (originally Jimmy Pop Ali[2]), is an American musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, primary songwriter, and one of the founding members of the rap rock band Bloodhound Gang.
Early life and education
[edit]James Moyer Franks was born in Trappe, Pennsylvania, the son of Alice Ann (born Moyer) and Richard Lee Franks.[1][3][4] He is of German and Native American heritage,[5] with Jewish ancestry.[1]He was raised Lutheran, but ceased practicing as soon as his parents approved his request to do so.[citation needed]
He graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School in 1990 and commenced studies in mass communication and history at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he met future Bloodhound Gang bassist Jared Hennegan.[6][unreliable source?]
