  • The Adventures of Sir Lancelot is a British television series that debuted in 1956. It graced the ITV network with its presence.     Across the Atlantic in the United States, the series initially found its home on NBC, where it aired from 1956 to 1957. Remarkably, its immense popularity on the American network paved the way for a historic achievement: it became the first British television series to film entire episodes in vibrant color. It was shown at first in B&W in the US and then the later episodes, in color.  

    The Adventures of Sir Lancelot enlisted the talents of American screenwriters who had relocated to Britain after encountering difficulties due to the Hollywood blacklist. Many of these scribes chose to work under pseudonyms, a common practice at the time.
